General Information for Local Families

Prairie Spirit is looking for families within our School Division who would like to host an International Student. We have a short-term program where you can host a KOREAN student for a two-month stay between January and April. These children, from Grades 5 to 8, are matched with families who have children the same gender, age and grade. See the Hanwood site for more information.

We’re also looking for families to host high school INTERNATIONAL students for a 10 month stay; September to June.

By having these students live with you, you will:

• Learn about various cultures and customs and even learn to speak another language.
• Make a new friend from another country
• Be compensated for accommodations and meals
